Angel Reese's case for Rookie of the Year just got better after she rewrote the WNBA history books on Sunday night.
The Chicago Sky fell to the Seattle Storm 84-71, but Reese recorded her 13th consecutive double-double, breaking WNBA great Candace Parker's multi-season record.
Reese, who scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss, has recorded double figures in at least two stat columns in every game since June 4.

Fans praised Reese for her efforts, including one X-user who posted: “Every time you break a Candace Parker record you're doing something ridiculous.”
The double-double came on a fast break, when Sky rookie Kamila Cardosa missed a layup, but Reese was there to grab the rebound. She put the ball back in the basket for two more points, securing the double-double and history all at once.
Another who took note of Reese's performance was Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant, who simply reposted Bleacher Report's graphic of the double-double record with a fire emoji, showing his support for the LSU product.

This double-double from Reese also came in the third quarter, which is impressive in and of itself. However, this streak has seen similar performances, as Reese is definitely acclimated to life in the WNBA.
The Rookie of the Year conversation has also been raised, as Reese and her Sky teammates believe she should be the favorite for the award considering what she records on the stat sheet each night.
Her main competition is Indiana Fever first overall pick Caitlin Clark, who also made WNBA history on Saturday by becoming the first rookie to record a triple-double.
Amid this race between Reese and Clark, Sky's social media team made it clear who they think is ahead.
“A record-setting player. The favorite,” Sky posted on X after an earlier win over the Storm on July 5. Reese reposted that and also received some support from teammate Chennedy Carter during a post-game interview.
“Barbie is the Rookie of the Year. There's no other way to put it,” Carter said, via the New York Post. “She goes out, she does her job every night, no matter what team we're playing. I'm telling you, Barbie is the Rookie of the Year, hands down.”
While that's still up for debate, one thing that isn't is Reese's selection for the All-Star Game, as she was very emotional once she found out after one game that she would be heading to Phoenix for the festivities after her hot start.
