American track star Quincy Wilson was on top of the world over the weekend as he collected a gold medal when Team USA won the 4×400 metres relay at the Paris Olympics.
Wilson competed in the Olympic trials on a team with Vernon Norwood, Bryce Deadmon and Christopher Bailey and helped them reach the final of the event. Norwood, Deadmon, Bailey and Rai Benjamin eventually won the gold medal, defeating Botswana and Great Britain and setting an Olympic record.

Wilson celebrated the gold medal on social media, but immediately lamented that her time in Paris and her summer vacation were coming to an end. She needs to get back to the books.
“Wow, I actually managed to go to school in two and a half weeks,” X wrote with a broken heart emoji.
Wilson is just 16 years old and represents the future of men's athletics.

She burst onto the scene last year at the USA Track and Field Under-20 Championships, finishing fourth in the 400 meters in 46.12.
At this year's Olympic trials, he finished sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 44.94. He even outscored Deadmon at the Holloway Pro Classic in Florida last month.

He will return to Bullis High School in Maryland and work toward further success at the country's major track and field events.
