The Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs will face off Saturday night in a highly-anticipated game with popular figures, including former President Donald Trump, likely in attendance at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer, who guided the Crimson Tide to a No. 4 ranking in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, was asked about Trump's potential attendance at the game and the impact it would have.

“I'm sure there will be a lot of celebrities here, people who want to come be a part of what's going to happen on game day,” DeBoer said, via AL.com. “Everyone is watching. It'll be great to have everyone who wants to come watch here.

“As for us, I told the guys this: With 'Gameday' and everything coming up here, the guys need to try to get as much out of the way as they can, except for maybe some extra interviews toward the end of the week. The main thing is for them to prepare to play the best football they've ever played this year. I've always challenged them to play the best football they've ever played in their career. That's what matters when it comes to what we can control.

“But yeah, it's great that we have a lot of people who want to come and be part of the atmosphere and add to the excitement and energy that the game will bring.”

Trump is likely to attend the game, and there will be heightened security in Tuscaloosa. The former president, who is the Republican presidential nominee for a third term, has faced two assassination attempts in the past two months.

Asked whether “those types of events are particularly concerning, given that there could be tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people around,” acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe was not interested in discussing Trump's possible appearance at the game.
