One of the United States favorite Golden Retrievers is returning to hard wood.
Cinebse and Air Bud Entertainment announced Thursday that a new feature film, “Air Bud Returns” will be released in the summer of 2026.
The film is written and directed by Robert Vince, who produced the original “Air Bud” in 1997 along with the 14 films in the “Air Bud” franchises, “Air Buddies” and “Santa Paws”.
Vince called the movie a unique story.
“This film will involve Air Air Bud fans, presenting a new generation to the beloved Golden Retriever, Buddy,” Vince said in a press release. “It is based on the legacy of the OG Jar With all fun, magic, moving scenes and the friend playing basketball. “
The plot is a 12 -year -old boy named Jacob who discovers an original “Air Brot” VHS in his father's belongings while visiting his childhood home after his death. Jacob meets a street retriever Golden who names Buddy. Together, the two “embark on a healing trip, join a team of misfits and pursue a championship.”
According to the press release, “Air Bud Returns” marks the beginning of a potentially long -term collaboration between Cinebse and Air Bud Entertainment, which implies that there could be more to come from Buddy.
“Air Bud” was launched on August 1, 1997 and raised $ 23 million worldwide.
