San Francisco was just minutes away from winning Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday night, taking a three-point lead with less than two minutes remaining.

But the Kansas City Chiefs drove down the field to tie the game with three seconds left.
The Niners even had a lead in overtime by kicking a field goal on their first possession of the period, and needed a stop on 4th-and-1, but Patrick Mahomes converted a first down, and then a few more to eventually hit Mecole Hardman for the championship. -winning touchdown.
But the drought has continued with what appears to be a curse from their head coach, Kyle Shanahan.
For the third time, Shanahan coached a team with a double-digit lead in the Super Bowl; however, he is 0-3 in the big game.
Shanahan, of course, was the offensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons when they blew a 28-3 lead against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI.

Four years ago, the Niners had a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter against these same Chiefs, but Kansas City won Super Bowl LIV, 31-20.
“There are no right words right now,” Shanahan said after the game. “It hurts, everyone understands that. We knew it would hurt if it came to this, but we're proud of our guys.
“They put themselves out there, they played to the limit, they played with a lot of things. It's something we have to live with, but I know it's something we can handle. We're all pretty disappointed right now. But if I'm going to lose to anyone, I want to lose. with those guys.”

While the Niners wait for their drought to end, the Chiefs are in dynasty territory, winning their third title in five years.
