2024 MLB Draft Rankings 2.0: Top Prospects, Mini Mock Draft 2024 MLB Draft Rankings 2.0: Top Prospects, Mini Mock Draft

Coming into the season, the 2024 MLB draft class was viewed as a distinctly disadvantaged group, especially after a historic 2023 crop. Throughout the spring, the 2024 class has improved and now the top tier of 10 players would slot directly into an updated list of MLB's top 100 prospects; that number was just four at the beginning of spring.

It's a much nicer backdrop from which to reveal my 150+ updated draft prospects and a mini mock draft of the top 13 picks.

The big improvement comes from a deep class of potential first-round college position players and a deep class of seven-figure quality high school pitchers.

But it's not all sunshine and roses. High school position players drop off dramatically after the top two. There were 14 high school position players among the top 32 picks last year and we could see just three chosen in that range this year. The college pitching pool is limited after the top three, and despite its depth, the prep pitching class has few high-end, first-round prospects, with only one high school pitcher having a real shot at breaking in. in the group. 15 best picks.

This is a ranking primarily to reflect an industry consensus at this point, with a bit of my opinion. I cut it at 154 because that's where all the names started to look the same to me.

I include FV grades/levels and a top 100 MLB ranking so you can see where these players would rank on updated versions of your team's top prospect lists.

Let's start by looking at how he could shake off the top of the first round in July, before moving on to my ranking of the top 150 or so players.
