2024-25 NCAA Men's Basketball Transfer Portal Tracker: Updates

Transfer portal season has become the busiest two months on the college basketball calendar. Entire squads break down and rebuild in just a few weeks, and some teams need to enter the portal for 10 or 11 players. Coaching staffs spend two or three years recruiting high school players; and now they spend two or three weeks, sometimes less, recruiting transfers.

There will be over 2,000 players in the portal when it closes to college students on May 1. The vast majority will find a new home in a similar time frame.

It's a lot to digest.

So, like the coaching carousel tracker, we'll have a constantly updated transfer portal tracker this offseason. Find all the latest information and the latest rumors about the players available on the portal. School lists, visit plans, goal boards – the whole movement will be discussed here.

Follow ESPN's ranking of the 100 best transfers here.

Indiana got Rice, looking for others in the portal

Mike Woodson is wasting no time rebuilding his roster after a down year in Bloomington. The Hoosiers already won the Washington state title Myles Riceone of the best point guards on the portal.

Panorama: They are also expected to host the Stanford conference. Kanaan Carlyle for a visit this week. Carlyle is a former top-50 recruit capable of explosive performances. Neither Rice nor Carlyle are tackle shooters, but Indiana is chasing him too Connor Hickman (Bradley) and Ryan Conwell (Indiana State) to fill that role. On the front, the main objective is the number one overall transfer. Omar Ballo. Arizona's big man is expected to visit Bloomington this week, and Indiana is believed to be in a pretty good position. If Ballo abandons his visit without committing, Hoosiers could turn to Drexel Amari Williams, who also visits us later in the week. Ballo is a far superior offensive player, but Williams is a three-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year.

Michigan looks to return to past glory with the hiring of Dusty May

Take a look at the numbers behind Michigan's hiring of former Florida Atlantic basketball coach Dusty May.

Dusty May has Michigan on his list of several top targets

May didn't have a completely empty cupboard in Ann Arbor when he replaced Juwan Howard, and George Washington III joined the returnees when he opted to remove his name from the transfer portal and stay at Michigan. But the former Florida Atlantic coach is looking to build a competitive roster in year one, and he's making big changes in the portal.

Panorama: At the top of the target list: two of his former FAU players in Johnell Davis (possibly the best perimeter player in the portal) and center Vladislav Goldin. Houston was also pursuing Davis, but the Cougars landed Milos Uzan over the weekend; Is Kelvin Sampson's show still in play? Michigan is also in the mix for Yale danny wolf, a first-team All-Ivy selection last season. While the Wolverines will likely be the leader for both Goldin and Wolf as things stand, the first 7-foot center to commit could send the other elsewhere, or perhaps they'll fight once they get to campus. Oakland Trey Townsend, which posted dominant numbers against top competition last season, would also visit Ann Arbor on Sunday. On the perimeter, Michigan is perceived as the leader for the Auburn transfer. Tre Donaldson. from the state of ohio Roddy Gayle Jr. He is also expected to visit Ann Arbor soon. Be on the lookout for another Auburn transfer, Aden Holloway. Her sister, Mila Holloway, has signed to play basketball at Michigan next season.

It's clear that Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels want a true portal five man this spring. Armando Bacot has exhausted his eligibility, James Okonkwo barely played and has already reached the portal, and Jalen Washington is the only remaining option for that position.

Panorama: Former top 10 prospect Aaron Bradshaw He was expected to visit Ohio State last weekend, but UNC is heavily involved and has him near or at the top of the target list. The Tar Heels are also battling a handful of schools for Omar Ballo. Can Ballo top his visits to Indiana, Louisville and Kansas State? rutgers Clifford Omoruyione of the best defensive players in the country, has had communication with North Carolina, like the aforementioned danny wolf. Could the Tar Heels try to make it to Tennessee? Jonas Aidoo, also? Aidoo, who entered the portal late last week, is a Durham native.

  • It will be interesting to see what happens with the wings. Darlinstone Dubar (Hofstra) and Cade Tyson (Belmont), who were in Tennessee this last weekend. Both would be huge boosts for Rick Barnes' offense without Dalton Knecht. Tyson is expected to visit North Carolina this weekend.

  • georgetown has been the perceived leader for Harvard Malik Mack from the beginning of the portal process. The Hoyas still seem to be the favorites.
