To the editor: I have lived in Los Angeles the long time to know that this city tries to shoot, earthquakes and fury and still manages to bloom. We grow food in our rear courtyards, paint our pain on the walls and find beauty in the fight. But at this time, there is a pressure in the thicker air than the Smog, a national fear that wobbles through our streets, and its name is Donald Trump (“The National Guard arrives in Los Angeles as the consequences of immigration raids continue,” June 8).
Helicopters in general are not just news helicopters. They are echoes of something ancient and dangerous: the fascism that rises in the American soil. I never thought I would say this in my life, but we are seeing a man try to tear down a republic with the presumed smile of a presenter of a game program that already knows the final answer.
President Trump, you can stop now. Light your TV. Look what you have done. You will not be remembered as a patriot. You will not be remembered as a liberator. You will be remembered as the worst leader that this country has produced. A divisor. A destroyer.
We write, paint, protest and plant seeds of hope in a cracked concrete. But we are exhausted. We need moral leadership, not messianic delirium. What do we tell our children when their leaders praise the dictators, vilipendian the press and make fun of the weak? Is that chaos power? Is that empathy weakness?
Mr. Trump: History is not on his side and it is not the angels either.

To the editor: It is important to remember that the president who sent the National Guard to Los Angeles because the administration “has a zero tolerance policy for criminal behavior and violence” is the same president who prompted the insurrection on January 6, 2021, refused to take measures to stop the attack against our Capitol or protect the members of the congress and, as soon as he assumed the position in 2025, they were told to all (more than 1,500 people) attacks. Approximately 140 law agents were injured with more than $ 2.7 million In damage to the Capitol.
He is sending a message.

To the editor: Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass have not told Los Angeles disruptors who go home because these politicians fear alienating an important voting block.
If Trump does nothing, there will be the creation of areas of not going throughout our country, in which local groups stop to parts of the main cities to stop to impose a political agenda of illegal immigration.
If Trump tries to restore order, the uproar, such as those of the University Campus, they will increase their pressure to demonstrate who has power in this country. It is really necessary to send to the troops. Otherwise, we head towards a variant of the Mafia rule.

To the editor: The last time a president called the National Guard without a governor's request was in 1965 in Selma, Alabama, to protect civil rights protesters. This current action of the president is not to protect civil rights or even legal rights.
The use of troops masks indicates a complete lack of training and responsibility. In other words, unrestricted gangs with the support of Potus.

To the editor: The undocumented protests and their followers without permits are useless and stupid. The resulting arrests and arrests are inevitable. Police are only doing their job and protesters are violating the law when trying to stop them.
If the undocumented and their followers want to make a statement, boycott their workplaces in agriculture, construction, the clothing or cleaning industry in hotels, throughout the country. These industries are fully aware of how dependent are those who work to maintain profits.

To the editor: Now that the Trump administration has launched an open war against the values of the Californians, the most effective response would be massive resistance and, above all, passive. When thousands of people in the streets are and play dead in a blocking action against any attempt by the military action forces, these forces do not have good options to defeat people. Shattered protesters will only recruit the cause.
This will take discipline by resistance, but the average American consciousness will go back to see the peaceful protesters under violence. Mahatma Gandhi prevailed against the British and won a subcontinent without shooting a shot. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. helped defeat white supremacy using nonviolence. This is a fundamental moment in history that will be wasted if resistance resorts to violence. Where the cause is fair, good problems demand a massive peaceful protest to win.

To the editor: I am with those of the city that protest against Trump's intervention in the autonomy of California. I am proud of you and your efforts.
For those who committed acts of vandalism, including burned cars, a deep shame about you. For those who remained peaceful, he informs those who committed crime. It deeply hurts its cause when the weak brain commits stupidity.
