To the editor: It may not be fair to single out Fox News as a reason to distrust the media and journalism. (“Trump’s election says a lot about trust in journalism”, Opinion, November 12).
For too long, NBC has flown under the blame radar for creating the Frankenstein monster that is the Donald Trump story. By fabricating his image as a reality show star (what an oxymoron the term “reality show” is!), that corporate media organization laid the groundwork for the public to accept him and his lies and elect him president twice.
Former NBC marketing executive John D. Miller's recent apology to America in US News and World Report for promoting Trump as the star of “The Apprentice” may ease his guilt, but it fails to undo the damage already done. we have caused and will continue to cause. suffer.
NBC should save its soul by airing objective specials that remind the public of Trump's reality. He should also admit his own complicity in creating the conditions for his rise to political power, before it is too late.

To the editor: No issue has greater consequences and damage to our democratic republic than our loss of trust in journalism.
As an American who canceled my subscription to the LA Times many years ago because it did not separate news from opinion, I am hopeful that eventual changes to this newspaper will make me want to renew my subscription.
I'm not alone: Readers don't need sermons or persuasion disguised as news. The real news should reside in the news sections, reported by real journalists; Opinions should reside in the opinion section, written by opinion leaders.
