Trump is misinformed about many things, but he knows the construction

to the editor: Maybe a real estate mogul is really out of place in the White House, but linking a renovation project to the weakening of democracy is, to put it mildly, implausible (“Given everything in the news, why worry about the demolition of the White House?” April 2).

The war started by the Nobel Peace Prize candidate has managed to boost gas prices above $4 on national averageSo there is clearly a lot to criticize in President Trump's actions. But when it comes to construction, I fear the man in charge of the White House knows more than many of us.

What about ownership of the finished product? Of course, it does not belong to any particular occupant. Perhaps the days of entertaining on the White House lawn, under a tent or in a shed, should have ended a long time ago.
