The government has a 'debt addiction', not an expense addiction

To the editor: Rugy Veronique contributing writer states that the federal government has an “spending addiction” that is causing economic problems (“Trump's fed battle is not like his other political fights.” July 23). However, that's not all, it is more like a debt addiction. Drastically reducing income to provide fiscal relief to the richest Americans makes a greater debt, which requires cuts to essential services that help low -level homes. But voters need, want and value those services, so Congress may not match the loss of income with equal or greater cuts in essential services. It's time for voters to wake up from this.
