to the editor: Contributing writer Veronique de Rugy's criticism of the Trump administration's proposals is spot on (“Real RINOs are not who you think they are” January 22). But his forced attempt to present the Democrats as equally dangerous fails to convince. According to her, policies coming from the far left, those that are not supported by mainstream liberals, are just as dangerous as policies coming from the MAGA team that actually controls the Republican Party and is able to implement its vision.
Wackos are dangerous, but conventional wackos are even more so. It is time for us all to wake up to the reality that there is nothing conservative about MAGA populism.
