To the editor: As the days go by, Donald Trump continues his presidency and more families and individual lives are affected. Its mass deportation application has several fearful communities of the worst. We listen to things online talk about people taken and put in detention centers. Trump said he wanted to deport “the worst of the worst”, however, among these people there are many who come with the hope of having a better future for their children (“Los Angeles public schools open with unprecedented protections for immigrant children”, August 13).
These recent raids that have occurred in all states are specifically affecting the minds of the youngest generation, having to see the families of friends, people online and even sometimes their own family are separated. Children now live in a world where they have to be afraid that they no longer see their families. This is bringing so much stress, anxiety and depression.
Seeing firsthand how bad this can affect our children is something sad and scary to witness. It is something that we should not have to be living, but unfortunately it is the reality in the world in which we live today.

To the editor: It could not be more proud of the LAUSD for showing the world that some people living in the United States of America still believe in human rights.
