To the editor: While I appreciate that there is a diversity of opinion about transgender women in sports, I am outraged by the silence of Governor Gavin Newsom and too many others, since transgender people are subject to the most comprehensive assault since Jim Crow Days in the human and constitutional rights of a group of American (“Newsom says that trans athletes competed in the sport of women are” deep ” March 6).
Imagine that you are transgender and face, at the national level or in certain states:
- Be forced to break the law or harassment, arrest or even assault while using a public bath.
- He is denied the right to be addressed by the name he chooses.
- Being expelled from the United States Army.
- He is denied access to medical care that is the standard of care, even as an adult.
- Be denied, in Iowa, protection against discrimination in employment, housing, education, public services and more because you are trans.
- It is required that he lists the sex of his birth in his passport and driver's license, which obtains him as a transgender for all, which in the best case could cause delays when he travels.
- Not being able to freely access books about you and people like you in the Public Library.
- Have your own existence denied by the federal government and all references to people such as you withdrawal from government websites.
The Anti-Trans campaign is not a cultural war. It is a civil rights battle. For years, government thugs have been promoting several forms of legal persecution in Transgender Americans to see what can come with their own. (Until now, a lot.) And Newsom, as well as many other Americans, is it panic for a handful of transgender athletes? Please wake up.

To the editor: Trans people are not “poor” people who deserve or look for the penalty of the governor or pity of any other person. They want to live like everyone else, without prohibitions, harassment or institutionalized cruelty. The source of the problems of trans people originates in the hard intolerance of the multitude of magician and the gentle intolerance of political sales such as Newsom.

To the editor: Trump wrote in his executive order: “The adoption of an inconsistent gender identity with the sexual conflicts of an individual with the commitment of a soldier with an honorable, truthful and disciplined lifestyle.” This is just another example of Trump's habit to attribute his own failures to the people he does not know, but he has decided that he does not like.

To the editor: As a liberal of bleeding heart, I say not to allow transgender athletes to compete in sports of girls and women. I grew up as a student at Lausd. Now I am 88 years old. I loved sports and compete. You still do it! Sports built friendships, and my competitive spirit in athletics helped me overcome some difficult academic times. Allowing Trans athletes to compete in women's professional sports would bring their destination.

To the editor: The obsession of President Trump and the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, with the transgender problems is only a distraction of his machinations aimed at limiting democracy and allowing them to pay less in taxes and staying in power.
