LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: SOME 'SIMPLE STEPS' to help relieve the abuse of gravamen presentations

To the editor: Los Angeles Times has reported on this subject before, and it seems obvious that some simple steps could relieve much of the problem (“With false encumbrances, anti -government agitators point to damage the credit of political opponents, careers,” “ July 30).

Presenting a false tax must be a serious crime in each state. The presentation rate must be cheap (for example, dozens of dollars), but the presentation must require the statement of truthfulness, similar to the presentation of taxes, and must remind the file that it is a serious crime to falsely present. And, of course, the presentation must notify the objective. Prosecutors must also accuse the abusers of harassment.
