to the editor: María Corina Machado's desperate attempt to curry favor with President Trump by giving him her Nobel Peace Prize degrades the award itself and those who voted for her to receive it (“Venezuelan opposition leader Machado says she 'gave' her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump,” January 15). Trump demeans himself for being so hungry for an award that he was willing to snatch an award from its rightful recipient.

to the editor: This is an embarrassing example of a woman trying to appease a man with a fragile ego to gain his favor. If Machado wants to lead Venezuela, he needs to stand up and act as a leader.
