LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: 'Bravo', Senator Cory Booker, to face Trump (and stand for 25 hours)

To the editor: Senator Cory Booker is incredibly brave and physically strong to stop and speak for more than 25 hours in the Senate (“Senator Cory Booker establishes record with the speech of the marathon Senate that opposes the Trump agenda”, April 1). The New Jersey Democrat spoke for all Americans who value our shared democratic history and the elements that make our daily life worth it: public health departments, medical research, clean air and water, weather reports, air trips, reproductive health, health insurance, civil rights protection, voting rights, respect for our allies and not promote dictators, to name some! Thanks, senator. We are going to gather to protect the elements of our regular lives that have made our country great!

To the editor: Booker should have been on the main page, on the fold. Then broke-sen. The 1957 Strom Thurmond record for a filibuster. Bravo, Booker, for trying to wake up the Republicans and try to save our democracy.

To the editor: What Booker did is more than extraordinary. It is a demonstration of courage, integrity and leadership that has been very expensive of our elected leaders. He is telling power truth, defending a thug and remembering the American people who are us who finally sustain the power to determine our government. He has asked the United States to help him recover our country from a delusional demagogue, and now it is up to us to respond. Thank you, Senator Booker, for your incredible position of principles in defense of the rule of law, our Constitution and our way of life.

To the editor: The segregationist registration of Time Thurmond is deleted. In spite of all his rampances against President Trump and republican policies so far, Booker did not offer alternatives. Similar to the failed 2024 presidential campaign strategy of the Democrats, it was “to stop Trump” without usable competence policies. How will Booker cut the federal budget deficit for billions of dollars? Or are you saying: “Business as always. Let our children pay for the country in bankruptcy”? In spite of all his words, the image I see is Don Quixote bowing in the wind mills. Booker offered many criticisms, but nothing constructive.
