It's nice to see year-end recognition for architectural notables

to the editor: I read with appreciation Sam Lubell's summary of the year's most notable architectures (“The 7 Best Los Angeles Architecture Projects of 2025” December 19). Every year I regret that architecture is not included in the lists of artistic and cultural superlatives at the end of the year. This selection is powerful precisely because it focuses on the types of projects that most architects quietly work on.

New designs and renovations of schools, airports and office buildings (as well as housing, businesses and health services) affect everyone in the area. Because everything surrounds us so naturally, architecture is sometimes taken for granted, as are the resourceful professionals who make our cities and buildings safe, pleasant and beautiful.
