Is “dumb as a rock” all the Trump campaign has to say about Harris? What a joke!

To the editor: “Stone-dumb” is the best former President Trump’s team of high school students could come up with about Vice President Kamala Harris? (“Sharp, legal mind” or “stone-dumb”? The ugly race to re-elect Harris is on,” July 24)

My own team responded with “Don, the fat, poop-headed one.” While I like the alliteration, I still find it too long and cumbersome. I'm sending it back for further review.

Meanwhile, in a perfect world where adults run for President of the United States, the former President would be called Mr. President and the sitting Vice President would be called Madam Vice President. Perhaps this is a good place to start.

What was I thinking? “Poop head,” I say.

To the editor: Childless women are criticized for liking cats? A presidential candidate is criticized for not only laughing, but for “clucking”? Sounds like an old-fashioned witch hunt to me.

To all women, with or without children (or cats): We are not being heard. We need to speak up.

To the editor: There are several aspects of Harris's qualifications that concern thoughtful voters.

First of all, she has never run an organization.

Second, he has not demonstrated any economic literacy, which is essential to running the world's largest economy, nor has he shown much concern about the growing deficit and the challenges to our financial institutions.

Finally, his apparent indifference to the border crisis when he was given responsibility for it raises expectations of the worst when it comes to controlling illegal immigration and other border crossings.

Say what you will about Trump. It takes someone very smart and knowledgeable to get things done in New York City.

To the editor: The “dumb as a rock” slur is a predictable childish taunt from Trump and the Republican Party.

Fortunately, Harris and her team have been brilliant at handling the attacks. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them defang Trump with something along the lines of “Dark Brandon.”

My personal favorite would be based on the Stanford football team’s slogan from a few years ago. But instead of “fear the tree,” Harris’ team would say “fear the rock.”

To the editor: The DEI trope implying that Harris “didn’t earn it” is particularly weak.

Trump didn't earn it, his father gave it to him, and he lost much of it as his companies went bankrupt six times.

There are millions of Americans more suited to be president than Trump, and one of them is Kamala Harris.

To the editor: Let's face it: America is the best country in the world. Being an American citizen has many benefits, and these continue to increase as our country evolves and meets the needs of social, economic and political change.

There is no country in the world that offers a better life for its inhabitants. That is why so many people from all over the world want to emigrate here.

That is also why I find it appalling that after all these years, a person's colour or gender are still considered important criteria to be taken into account when electing a political office.
