To the editor: Columnist Jackie Calmes says Donald Trump fatigue has set in, and one expects it. Yet we continue to hear Calmes and other members of the Times editorial staff talk about the former president. (“I watched a Trump rally so you don't have to. But you need to know what he says,” Opinion, February 22)
Many readers of your newspaper want you to practice “Trump fatigue” and stop publishing so many articles about him.
Have you all developed Trump disorder syndrome?

To the editor: Calmes writes that the respective age and mental acuity of Trump and President Biden are the overriding issue in their seemingly likely rematch in 2024.
Sure, both men are old and both have failed at giving speeches.
However, only one embraces dictators like Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Only one spews bile the likes of which we have not heard from a national leader since Adolf Hitler. Only one has been charged with 91 counts in four criminal cases. Only one has been judged responsible for sexual assault and fraud. I could go on.
Any depiction of these two men as equivalent in any meaningful way is a disservice to the truth.

To the editor: I read Calmes' report on the Trump rally he saw. I hope he has recovered from the nausea.
The MAGA crowds at these rallies are made up of high school C, D, and F students, the hustlers and the scammed, the real “basket of deplorables.” These are the same types of people who lined up in Dallas in 2021 awaiting the arrival of John F. Kennedy Jr.
They flatter the nonsense he says about taps without water. Instead of applause, we get the lowest common denominator of cat screams and curse words.
Fortunately, this crowd is still a minority, and I simply don't think there will be enough of them to make it big in November.
