From class to vulgarity: readers get a bad first impression of LA28

To the editor: I doubt I'll eat my words, but judging by the absolutely pitiful presentation during the closing ceremony in Paris by the organizers of the 2028 Summer Olympics (complete with an aging Hollywood actor and equally pathetic performances by some pop artists), I'm convinced that Los Angeles will never be able to compete with the spectacular spectacle offered in France.

We are not that creative, original and inclusive. We do kitsch well, but creativity and class? Not so much.

To the editor: What a shame! After an incredibly smooth and exciting Paris Olympics, the handover to Los Angeles at the closing ceremony was appalling.

With millions of people watching around the world, the best thing Los Angeles can do is a pop concert on the beach?

The Los Angeles organizing committee should hang its head for not realizing the need to make a good impression. If that is the best Los Angeles can do, I vote for moving the Olympics somewhere else, anywhere.

To the editor: On television, the closing ceremony could be called “From Class to Rudeness.”
