Downplaying Jewish concerns about war is anti-Semitic

To the editor: In one letter, a “proud Jewish academic” asks whether acknowledging that nothing happening to Jews in this country equals or surpasses the devastation in Gaza makes him an anti-Semite.

By that logic, can the legitimate concerns of black Americans, transgender Americans, or any other group be similarly dismissed since they are not currently living in a war zone?

Or are the concerns of American Jews the only ones that fit this dismissive standard, as if Jews were somehow “responsible” for the war based on their ethnicity?

To believe that would be anti-Semitic.
