Woman sparks debate after wearing white at her sister's wedding

Debate over the wisdom of wearing white at a wedding has been reignited after a woman revealed she wore the wedding color to her sister's nuptials.

In a recent Reddit post shared in the popular “Am I the Asshole?” subreddit, a bride's sister explained that she wore white to her sister's wedding and thought it would be acceptable.

“I wore a white shirt and black pants to their wedding, like most of the men there,” he explained in his post. “The dress code for the wedding was formal and women can't wear white, but I thought it would be okay because I wasn't wearing a dress.”

Unfortunately, the woman said her sister ended up getting angry with her, claiming that they “stole her attention” because they were both wearing white.

“I didn't stand out at all. She was wearing a plain shirt and black pants. I mixed with other people. “I didn’t want to upset her even though I honestly thought she would be fine,” the Reddit post concluded.

In response to the post, many people took to the comments to weigh in, with some finding fault with both arguments.

“No one is going to confuse a woman in a white shirt and black pants with the bride. I think that whole 'you wore white, how dare you?' thing. It’s a red herring,” one comment began.
