A mum showed off the hilarious way she talks down men who hit on her at the gym.
In a viral TikTok video, fitness trainer Maria, who is pregnant with twins, revealed that the people behind her can't tell that she is pregnant. She claimed that her belly is the best way to stop men from flirting with her while she works out, turning away when they approach her to deter them. In her caption, she joked, “That's one way to get rid of them.”
Since posting the clip, the video has garnered over 300,000 likes on the platform, with many people in the comments section shocked by her reveal and calling her gym strategy relatable.
“Nothing on planet Earth could have prepared me for that,” one user wrote. “Wow, you carry so well all the best for you and your family.”
“I wish I could see myself like this from behind during my [pregnancy] and I only have one baby,” added another.
“I'm so amazed by your resilience,” someone else commented. “You're carrying these babies like it's no big deal! “I would collapse on the couch like a beached whale.” Maria responded, “Girl, 99 percent of the time the same thing.”
Others shared their own experiences of unwanted advances from men during their pregnancies.
“Someone asked me for my number when I was 8 months old with my first one,” one person wrote. “In their defense, I don't 'pop' in my pregnancies, so it was an awkward conversation.”
“This happened to me when I was 9 months old,” said another. “My older brother cursed that man.”
Someone else shared a different experience where they surprised a customer with their pregnant belly.
“When I worked in retail, I was helping a customer behind the counter and had to show them a product. When I went around the counter she literally said 'oh DAMN,'” one user wrote.
Throughout her most recent pregnancy, Maria has continued to be active in the gym and has become a strong advocate for pregnant women exercising.
“If you've been lifting weights for a year, two years or whatever, you can keep doing it,” he said. “Just adjust the weights a little bit.”
In an interview with Sun, Marie revealed she “still couldn't believe” she was having twins, even as she celebrated their arrival at her baby shower. At the event, she wore a ruffled green dress while posing in front of neutral-colored balloons, which she chose because the family didn't yet know the gender.
