With the onset of monsoon season, many people are eagerly waiting to taste Jamun fruit. Considered by many to be the best delicacy of the rainy season, Jamun is the storehouse of nutrients and also the favorite fruit of children. There are a few things to keep in mind when eating this fruit. One of them is not to drink water after consuming it. In an interview with a portal, Dr Makarand Kumar (BAMS, Government Ayurvedic College, Begusarai, 24 years of experience) spoke more about it. According to the doctor, drinking water or milk immediately after eating Jamun fruit can cause many stomach ailments. This can reportedly lead to problems such as diarrhea and indigestion. It is advisable to consume water after 30 to 40 minutes of eating Jamun.

Dr. Makarand has also advised people not to eat Jamun fruit in excessive quantities as it can also lead to stomach problems like gas and bloating. These problems can also occur in people who have a sensitive digestive system. According to the medical professional, this fruit is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, beneficial for the skin. It can have adverse effects on both the face and the skin, pimples and wrinkles. According to reports, there is no direct evidence to indicate that Jamun causes acne. Each person's reactions to foods vary. Excessive consumption of sugary fruits like Jamun could contribute to acne in people prone to breakouts.

Dr. Makarand has a warning for patients with lower blood sugar levels regarding consuming this fruit. According to the doctor, this fruit reduces blood sugar levels. Therefore, medical professionals have warned people who already suffer from low blood sugar levels not to eat this fruit. This is because black plum, as Jamun is called, can have adverse effects on the body.

Keeping these certain tips in mind, there is nothing wrong in eating Jamun. High in vitamin C, Jamun can provide a significant boost to the immune system.
