Golden Globes attendees will reportedly receive gift bags worth up to $500,000.
The Globes and the luxury lifestyle magazine Robb Reportannounced Wednesday that they will combine forces to give away luxury gift bags to the 83 winners and hosts of the show that will air live on CBS on Jan. 7 and on Paramount+.
Each guest will reportedly receive bags that include more than 35 products and experiences. To top it all off, the magazine also said they planned to donate an undisclosed sum to the Golden Globes Foundation.
There are plenty of celebrities and rising stars vying for a Golden Globe trophy this year, competing against the best of the best, and the glamorous gift bags for the winners only serve to sweeten the deal.
Some of the gifts and experiences include invitations to exotic yacht charters, private jet credits, custom-made sneakers, celebrity tattoo sessions, and private pizza-making classes with a top chef.
A two-night stay in Burgundy, France, an all-inclusive hostel stay in New Zealand, private surf lessons in Southern California and a pair of $69,000 emerald earrings are also among some of the potential gifts that winners and presenters can receive. Reportedly, not all recipients will receive the same gift bags, USA Today reports.
Hollywood awards shows have a long history of handing out gift bags to their winners and guests; The 2020 Academy Awards purses are reportedly valued at around $200,000. It looks like the Globes gift bags may be a sign of the entertainment industry marking a return to excess and luxury after years of scaled-down awards ceremonies due to the pandemic.
