US Surgeon General warns that Generation Z is already experiencing a “midlife crisis” | Lifestyle

Generation Z may be under 30, but they could already be in a “midlife crisis,”2 according to the U.S. Surgeon General.

Social media has meant that people born between 1997 and 2012 suffer what many don't experience until middle age, Vivek Murthy said. The Guardian.

“What is happening on social media is the equivalent of having children in cars without safety features and driving on roads with no speed limits. Without traffic lights or rules of any kind. And we tell them: 'You know what? Do the best you can, figure out how to manage it,'” she said.

It came after Gallup's 2024 World Happiness Report indicated that young people are the unhappiest age group.
