He met his future wife in 1978 in a pub while working as a builder.
When he first told Denise on the cross dress, Denise did not believe it, until he dressed and showed it.

“She said: 'Yes, that's the complete idea.'
“There was even bikinis there!”
The couple continued on vacation in Spain, Greece and Türkiye over the years, with Mrs. Wolsey feeling free to please their female side.
But in 2014, Denise was diagnosed with a tumor in the middle of his chest, as well as paraneoplastic syndrome, and doctors initially gave him a six -month life expectancy.
After 18 months, I was still alive, challenging the initial expectations, so he moved to a Wigan care center due to his needs.

Mrs. Wolsey originally took the bus daily to visit his wife, but, in 2020, she moved to one of Wigan's independent belonging to the life of membership to be closer to Denise after realizing that she was cheaper than her previous floor.
Living in belonging gave him the confidence to dress as a woman in public for the first time after being attacked.

The next day, a staff member encouraged her to be herself, and since that day she has embraced her full -time identity, and other residents gave the opportunity to attend a Q&A about her transition.
“Everyone, as far as I know, have accepted me,” he said.

Looking back, he regrets not the transition before, and may have considered surgery if he was younger, but he is still proud of his trip.
She expects her story to inspire others to embrace her true beings, regardless of her age.
