TikToker Kimberly Nix dies at 31

Canada-based influencer Dr. Kimberly Nix died three years after being diagnosed with metastatic sarcoma.

Dr. Nix was known for documenting her cancer journey on Instagram and TikTok. The last video of her was posted to her social media accounts on Wednesday, May 8 to announce that she had died. “My journey here is over and I can't thank each and every one of you enough! You all have made me very happy and your comments and support are more than enough to help anyone overcome any problem! the title said. “If you'd like, please donate through my link in bio to sarcoma cancer research and follow my husband for updates from him.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, sarcoma is a broad group of cancers that begin in bones and soft tissues, including muscles, fat, blood vessels, nerves, and tendons. It becomes metastatic when the cancer spreads too far from the original site and reaches stage 4.

In her final video, which lasted nine minutes, Dr. Nix was seen sitting on the floor of her bathroom while filming a “get ready with me” video.

“Hello followers, if you are seeing this message, I passed away peacefully,” he began on TikTok. “For those who don't know me, my name is Kim, hello! It's a pleasure to meet you and we invite you to check out all the interesting facts about sarcoma, information and my lived experience with death and dying with sarcoma cancer. “You don’t have to go just because you’re new.”

She continued: “I love you all, thank you so much for this amazing opportunity. “I am crying with happiness because all of you made me find a great purpose at the end of my life.”

While putting on her makeup in the video, Dr. Nix reflected on what she was able to accomplish throughout her life, including Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. Nix was also able to make many strides in her education, as she was 28 years old and she was in her third and final year of her internal medicine core residency when she was diagnosed.

“I had a beautiful life,” he told his viewers. “And I'm very proud of it.”

Dr. Nix started crying halfway through the video, thinking about how she was leaving her husband and called him the “love of her life.”

“The most beautiful love and my only sadness when dying is knowing that we will not grow old together,” he said in the video. “Everything else is totally bearable, because that's the only thing that really matters.”

The clip ended as he encouraged his viewers to donate to Sarcoma Alliance, a charity dedicated to “improving the lives of people affected by sarcoma through accurate diagnosis, improved access to care, guidance, education and support,” according to your website.

“I can't thank you all enough for supporting me so much with your comments, for encouraging me, and for helping us feel not alone in this process. “This community has meant a lot to me and I can’t thank you enough,” he concluded in the video.

“I'll miss you, TikTok. I love you all, thank you for this amazing, amazing opportunity. I am crying with happiness because you all have made me find a great purpose at the end of my life and I cannot thank you enough. Thank you always from the bottom of my heart,” said Dr. Nix.
