A Tiktok viral influencer thought he had a sealed agreement to buy the old apartment of the New York Yankees legend, Manhattan's old apartment. But she hit the balance.
The former gymnast and influence of the Louisiana State University, Olivia “Livvy” Dunne, 22, published a video on Tuesday on Tiktok to tell her followers that despite presenting an offer for the apartment in New York City of the legend of the baseball legend, the building voted “does not live me there.”
Dunne, who has about 13 million followers combined on Instagram and Tiktok combined, explained that the decision reached the last minute, since it was just a few days after collecting the keys of the cooperative.
Buying a cooperative style apartment is slightly different from buying a normal apartment, since each resident becomes a shareholder in the corporation that the building has, and the rest of the shareholders can approve or deny the interested parties.
“I receive a call. The Cooperative Board denied me,” Dunne said. “Almost the people in the building voted so as not to live there, which is fine.”
She continued, telling her followers how well the sale went to that moment, and that she and her boyfriend, the star pitcher of Pittsburgh Pirates Paul Skenes, hired a designer to help them decorate the apartment.
“He reached the point where the real estate agent was so sure, Paul and I went, I got an interior designer because I didn't want to take my university furniture to Babe Ruth apartment, that would be like, criminal,” he said.
The gymnast was not told why the Cooperative Board denied it, but acknowledged that it could have been for a variety of reasons.
“Honestly, it was not financial. It could have been, as far as I know, they could have been Alabama fans and I went to LSU,” he continued. “Maybe they did not want a public figure to live there, but it was literally supposed to obtain the keys, and that week they denied me.”
The apartment is still on sale.
Ruth's apartment, located at the Upper West Side in Manhattan, where he lived with his second wife Claire Merritt Ruth and his adopted daughter Julia Ruth Stevens from 1920 to 1940, arrived for the first time to the real estate market in March.
The apartment is located on the seventh floor and includes three bedrooms with two and a half bathrooms.

Ruth, considered one of the best in playing baseball, reached a 714 race home run and kept the MLB wedding record until 1974, when Hank Aaron broke.
He became known as “The Sultan of Swat” and “The Bambino” when he became the first MLB player to reach 60 homers in a season.
He is also famous for the so -called “Bambino Curse”, since he took the Boston Red Sox to three World Series championships before being changed to the Yankees, who won four titles of the World Series with Ruth in the alignment.
Meanwhile, Boston would not win another world series until 2004.
Ruth died when she had 53 years of throat cancer.
