From birthday to festivals and corporate gestures, gifts are experiencing a quiet but powerful transformation

As sustainability becomes more than a fashion word, it is remodeling the way we think about the daily choices that include how we give. From birthday to festivals and corporate gestures, gifts are experiencing a quiet but powerful transformation. The new mantra? Reflective, ethical and aware of the environment.

While aesthetics and emotions remain in the heart of gifts, a growing number of consumers is asking deeper questions: how was this done? Who did? What kind of impact do you have?

“Sustainability is no longer a niche consideration in gifts, it is becoming part of the mainstream,” says Avi Kumar, CMO, FNP. “People begin to value gifts that are not only beautiful, but also significant and conscious.” According to Kumar, artisanal gifts and plants -based products with a lower environmental footprint are seeing a greater demand, along with items that can be reused or reused. “Gifting will always be about the celebration, but we believe that it can also have a quiet sense of responsibility,” he adds.

This change is not limited to products: it also promotes innovation throughout the gift ecosystem. From the packaging to the supply, the brands are rethinking every detail.

“There is a growing awareness among consumers on the environmental and social impact of their choices, and giving away is no exception,” says Ashna Gemini Sharan, portfolio director, Rx India. “From reusable materials and recycled products to gifts of local, biodegradable and artisanal origin, sustainability is becoming a central consideration when choosing what to give.”

Sharan points out that events and commercial platforms are playing a fundamental role in this transformation. “These meetings provide creators, brands and consumers conscious the opportunity to connect, collaborate and learn about innovations that are aligned with a greener future. We are seeing a celebration of crafts, transparency and responsibility, which current consumers resonate deeply.”

As more people look for gifts that align with their values and contribute to a better world, sustainable gifts are becoming more than a trend, it is a reflexive revolution. One that is changing how we celebrate, express love and build lasting connections.
