Following initial rumors that the two were in a relationship, Bush did not speak publicly about it until April in an essay he wrote for Glamor where she noted that her 13-month marriage to Grant Hughes didn't end because of Harris, and that something was wrong from the beginning.
“In April 2022 I was about to cancel my wedding. Instead of running away, I strived to be a model wife,” began her essay published by the outlet.
Discussing her divorce with a group of women, one of whom was Harris, the two ended up falling in love.
