Sharon Osbourne has admitted that her relationship with Thelma Riley, her late husband Ozzy Osbourne's first wife, and their three children, Jessica, Louis and Elliot, has not been easy.
During Saturday's episode of Dumb blonde On the podcast hosted by Bunnie XO, Sharon opened up about her blended family, which also includes the three children she shares with the late Black Sabbath alum.
“I'm very close to Ozzy's son. [Louis]” Sharon said, describing the “very complex” family dynamic. “And you know, it's always the way the girls go with the moms, the boys, you know. And we have a great relationship, I adore him and my children adore him. It's a unit, you know?
The “Crazy Train” singer's wife reflected during the podcast on why she thought Ozzy's marriage to Riley, from 1971 to 1982, didn't last.
“Ozzy's wife got married very early,” he said. “She got pregnant very early, she was married and had a child with someone before she met Ozzy. So when Ozzy and her name is Thelma, they got together, she had a five-year-old son and they got married.”
“Ozzy was already in Black Sabbath,” Sharon continued. “And they were just starting to fall apart, and she was a student and they were young.”
She noted that their lives began to drift apart when Riley raised their son while Ozzy was on tour.
Even though the former couple's relationship didn't work out, Sharon said Riley and Ozzy never had major disagreements when it came to raising their children.
“They were two totally different people,” he told Bunnie XO, adding that they had “fantastic kids.”
“That was their connection: kids, and I knew her, but we were very different. I was a mouthy kid and she was a student,” Sharon continued. “So, I would walk into a room and blind them, you know, and she would look at me like, 'She's crazy. She's crazy.' And I get it.”
“So we had nothing in common other than I was always respectful to her because she was Ozzy's wife and they had their kids together.”
Ozzy's family announced that he died of a heart attack in July 2025 at age 76.
“It is with more sadness than simple words can convey, we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family's privacy at this time,” the statement read at the time.
