According to an expert, Shardiya Navratri will begin on Pratipada Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin.

The Navratri festival, considered one of the most important festivals in Hinduism, will begin on October 3. For the next nine days, devotees will engage in intense devotion and worship of Goddess Durga. Here are more details about these days, provided by a renowned religious expert.

Religious expert Chandraprakash Dhandhan said that according to the Devi Puranas, the goddess will arrive in a palanquin when the festival begins on Thursday. Therefore, when Navratri ends on Saturday, it is believed that Goddess Durga will bid farewell on foot, the expert added. On October 3, the Pratipada Tithi will begin at 12:19 am and will end at 2:58 am on October 4. On October 12, the days will end, Dhandhan said. He added that during the period, reports of violence may come from other countries. Accidents may increase the recession and affect the economy; a risk of epidemic may be reported in the country and the world.

As stated in the Panchang, worship of various avatars of the Goddess will take place on these dates – Maa Shailputri on October 3, Maa Brahmacharini on October 4, Maa Chandraghanta on October 5, Maa Kushmanda on October 6, Maa Skandamata on October 7, Maa Katyayani on October 8, Maa Kalratri on October 9, Maa Siddhidatri on October 10, Maa Mahagauri on October 11 and Maa Durga on October 12. The last day, October 12, will see the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga done and the Dashami Tithi or Dussehra will begin.
