Shanaya Kapoor Looks Stunning As She Becomes Muse For Ridhi Mehra's Spectacular 'Safarnama' Bridal Collection
Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, is yet to make her big screen debut, but the budding actress has bagged the role of the 'lead' in designer Ridhi Mehra's latest bridal collection. Shanaya Kapoor was introduced as the muse for a bridal collection called Safarnama on February 24. The collection offers a variety of garments like lehengas, long jackets, draped sarees, salwar suit sets, sharara pants and sarees. The collection uses a variety of fabrics such as organza, tulle and raw silk that are made using techniques such as appliqué, zardozi and beaded embroidery. The clothes from the Safarnama collection range between Rs 89,800 and Rs 2,99,900.
In the first look of the collection, Shanaya opted for a red pantsuit delicately embroidered with what appears to be gold sequences. Shanaya is wearing a red bra under her jacket. The plunging neckline of her jacket pairs well with multi-layered necklaces. This pantsuit set, called Milan, is made of raw silk. It is priced at Rs 2,02,600. Shanaya keeps the focus on her outfit with minimal warm-toned makeup and keeps her hair open as she styles it in soft curls.
Before revealing Shanaya Kapoor as the face of its bridal collection, Ridhi Mehra's brand created buzz by coming up with a story about the newly married bride, named Shanno. In a statement to The Fashion Network, Ridhi Mehra said they wanted to create a collection that would appeal to a bride who “embodies boldness, carefreeness and the spirit of experimentation while still holding on to traditions in her own unique style.”
While talking about choosing Shanaya Kapoor as the muse, he said, “When we selected this collection, Shanaya Kapoor naturally emerged as our first and foremost choice to embody the essence of the campaign. This campaign is not just a showcase of bridal couture; It is a celebration of memories, travel and the beautiful fusion of the past with the present.”
The campaign appears to draw heavily on bygone times and evokes a sense of nostalgia through the use of props such as old transistor radios and Atachi bags. Speaking about the design of the campaign, Ridhi Mehra told Bold Outline, “We were inspired by the times when we traveled on trains for weddings, appreciating the moments around them. Shanaya's departure at her own baraat, against the backdrop of a train journey, became the heart of our narrative. This campaign is not just a showcase of bridal couture; It is a celebration of memories, travel and the beautiful fusion of the past with the present.”
