Royal news: Queen Camilla jokingly warns King Charles about his ongoing cancer treatment

King hosts garden party with royals while Prince Harry will miss meeting

has revealed that the King is “getting better”, before joking to guests at a royal engagement: “Well, he would be if he behaved.”

The Queen, 76, has been outspoken in her view that the King should slow down following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

But the King was in high spirits after returning to public life following the green light from doctors last month.

The King appeared in good spirits on a visit to the Royal Opera House last night as he made a surprise appearance, which came a week after claims he snubbed Prince Harry twice during his visit to the UK.

The Duke of Sussex spent three days in his home country for the first time since February and although many expected him to be reunited with his father, this did not happen.

A representative for the Duke confirmed this was due to the King's busy schedule, which has seen him attend five events in the last 48 hours.

The second alleged snub came when Buckingham Palace announced that Prince William would be appointed colonel-in-chief of Harry's former military regiment.

The announcement came while Harry was still in the UK, which many interpreted as a deliberate snub.

Queen Camilla issues the first royal certificates

Among those to receive the honour, which acts as an official seal of approval, are London department store Fortnum & Mason, sparkling wine producer Shane Connolly and the florist responsible for the designs at last year's coronation.

Fortnum & Mason chief executive Tom Athron said the firm was “honoured” by the Queen's decision.

“We are particularly excited to have received these grants because of what we believe the assurances represent,” he said.

“Receiving a royal warrant in 2024 requires a rigorous focus on acting for a sustainable future, supporting the country's rural and farming communities and protecting heritage arts and crafts.”

Guarantees can last up to five years and within this time companies can trade using the coat of arms of the royalty they are associated with.

Will Queen Camilla give up royal furs? This is what leadership is all about.

When I began campaigning for animal rights as a teenager in the 1980s, I was greatly inspired by an iconic poster created by anti-fur activists. Next to the image of an elegantly dressed woman holding a bloody fur coat was a slogan that read: “It takes up to 40 dumb animals to make a fur coat. But only one to use.”

If you had told me then that we would still be discussing the issue four decades later, I wouldn't have believed you. Surely this vain cruelty would have been eradicated long before 2024?

Could Harry and Meghan's original Megxit plan really have worked?

It may not have been an official “royal visit,” but anyone who watched the coverage of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's visit to Nigeria, in aid of the Invictus Games and their charitable foundation, could have been forgiven for think it was.

The couple has some celebrity and fame, and no one, at least outside of palace circles, seems to care all that much about whether the couple is classified as “working” or “non-working” royals: “Megmania” is took over this part of West Africa, in any case.

Harry is a prince, his wife is a duchess, his father is the king and head of the Commonwealth, and no amount of alienation or information can alter that. In Lagos State he received the welcome of a prince.
