Friends of Prince William have claimed he does not want his brother to attend his coronation after Charles disgraced Prince Andrew's security team.

The heir to the throne has had a strained relationship with Prince Harry in recent years, following the duke's departure as a working royal in 2020.

A friend of William told him The times that, following the King's coronation last year, the Prince of Wales said he wanted his own coronation to “look and feel different”.

The source revealed that as things stand, she wouldn't want her brother to be at her coronation, saying: “They're estranged, which is terribly sad.”

The claims come as it was revealed that Charles is to axe the Duke of York's security team. Prince Andrew's private security has been privately funded by Charles after he lost publicly funded police protection in 2022.

Security team members have been told their services will no longer be required from November, The Sun reported on Sunday.

Harry's old friends say he misses Britain

Some of Harry's oldest friends have questioned how happy the prince is in California, saying they “can't imagine” he would want to end up in a “golden” Californian exile.

Friends described the Harry they knew as having loved “going out at night to the pub and hanging out in the countryside with friends” but say he is now “isolated from his family and most of his old friends”.

A source who has known Harry since his teenage years said The times“Maybe he’s become a different person, but do I think he would really adapt to the California lifestyle? No. Now that we’ve seen how it all unfolded, what’s left for him? On the surface, an enviable lifestyle, but for the Harry I know, I can’t imagine that golden exile in California was where he wanted to end up.”

Another friend who says he still gets “the odd WhatsApp” from the duke said: “He’s an angry boy. Things haven’t gone his way. I think he misses being here.” [in Britain] “He is desperately in love and wants to be admired more. Anyone who knows him believes he would rather be at the top of society here, with everyone adoring him, like they do with William and Kate.”

Royals worried Harry will reveal conversations in second book, friends say

Members of the royal family are concerned that private conversations with Prince Harry will appear in a second autobiography, a family friend has said.

Speaking to The Times, a friend of the King revealed: “The problem for the King and other members of the family is the concern that if they have a chat with Harry, it will appear in Replacement Volume Two. How do you get trust back? I don't think Harry ever could.

“But from conversations I’ve had with the King, I would never say that their relationship is beyond repair. The King’s ability to forgive his son has not diminished. There are other members of the Royal Family who are much more against Harry, that’s the problem.”

Disgraced Prince Andrew could leave the royal lodge

As reports reveal the King is sacking the Duke of York's entire security team, rumours are circulating that this could mean the end of Prince Andrew's stay at the royal cottage.

Andrew's private security has been privately funded by Charles after he lost publicly funded police protection in 2022. According to The Sun on Sunday, members of the security team have been told their services will not be required from November.

A palace source told the paper: “Everyone is speculating that this means the Duke will have to leave the Royal Lodge because what other reason could there be for removing his security?

The sources added: “It is no secret that the King wants him out.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that Andrew had turned down an offer to move from Royal Lodge to nearby Frogmore Cottage. The duke is said to have signed a 75-year lease on the mansion in 2003.

In January, reports suggested Andrew would have to fund the multi-million pound security costs at Royal Lodge himself if he wanted to stay at the 30-bedroom mansion in Windsor Great Park.

Meghan shows off a 'big smile' during a visit to a Colombian music school with Harry

The Duchess of Sussex wore a “big smile” as she and the Duke of Sussex visited a music school during their tour of Colombia.

Harry and Meghan were greeted by the sound of thumping drums as they arrived at the Cabildo Drum School in Cartagena, the second-largest city in the Caribbean coastal region, on the third day of their official tour of the country.

During Saturday's visit, they participated in a student-led drum class alongside Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez and her husband.

The couple applauded the performance of local percussionists and listened to community members, including children, teenagers and parents, speak about the importance of preserving Cartagena’s culture, particularly its Afro-Colombian roots.

The school's founder, Rafael Ramos, said in Spanish: “I love seeing Meghan's huge smile. I can tell she's excited.”

Colombian school principal describes 'emotional' moment during Meghan and Harry's visit

The chief executive of a Colombian school has described an “emotional” moment during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited La Giralda School on the outskirts of the South American country's capital, Bogotá.

“It was very special for us to have Harry and Meghan come to visit and the staff and children were so excited,” said the school’s executive director, Diana Basto.

“It was a very nice experience to have them here. They visited various parts of the school, including the memorial museum section, where they learned about people who died in previous conflicts in Colombia’s history.

“It was very emotional for them, from there they moved on to kindergarten and then finally to the garden, where they helped plant two trees.

“There was music and dancing as they walked around the school and joined in the dancing. Then Harry tried out the punching bag in the gym.

“They were super excited when they received the gifts and because the kindergarten children are the same age as Archie.”
