Riz Ahmed has officially confirmed that he is dad.
Ahmed mentioned that he and his wife, Fatima Farheen Mirza, have a young son, whose age and gender did not reveal, during a conversation with Club Ciné, he published on Friday of substance.
While talking about some of his largest film roles, including one in the next thriller RelayAhmed was asked what role he is “proud.”
“Being a father. Because it's not about me,” he said.
Ahmed and Mirza met in 2018, when the actor was preparing for his role in Metal sound, In a coffee in Brooklyn, New York.
“I was writing a script. I was actually working on what I am editing now,” he said CBS Mornings. “He sat in front and began to empty his complete bag because he had lost his charger. You know, I just saw an opening. 'Can I help you?'”
He also recognized how his relationship has finally shaped his career.
“You know, at this point, anything that I, as an artist, is facilitated by my wife's support. Therefore, I have definitely made me realize the extent to which the people closest to you are actually the co -authors of your work,” he added.
The couple married an intimate ceremony in 2020. However, they have chosen to keep their son out of the center of attention.
Even so, Ahmed has talked about the terrifying experiences he has had since welcoming a child. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter On Friday, he recalled a time when his family was stolen, which turned out that his son's sentimental articles were stolen.

“All our belongings and precious possessions were stolen in a truck that moved from California to New York,” he said. “We just had a baby, so all our photos and memory cards and really precious items were stolen.”
He also pointed out that the theft happened just before starting to film Relay, Where he plays Ash, who protects the complainants from corrupt companies through an anonymous call center.
Finally, the difficulties in Ahmed's real life after the robbery shaped his performance in the film. “Sometimes, the assistant director read the email or the list of stolen things, or the last text message of the person who was investigating,” he said.
“So, that experience gave me a path to this character that was very visceral and honest. And I will be real with you, it is partly why this movie means so much for me,” added Ahmed. “We, as a family, were living a similar version of loss and loss of control with which my character was dealing with.”
