According to the Vedic calendar, the Jagannath Rath Yatra will begin at 8:05 am on July 7.
The sacred journey will conclude at 9:27 am
The Ratha Yatra will resume from 12:15 pm and will continue till 1:37 pm
Then the journey will begin again at 16:39 and continue until 18:01.
Significance and history of Jagannath Ratha Yatra:
This popular festival or Ratha Yatra has been celebrated for centuries. This auspicious festival is believed to have started in the 12th century. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna took out a Ratha Yatra with his sister Subadra and her elder brother Balram sitting inside a chariot. Since then, the tradition of Rata Yatra began.
