It looks like Kate Middleton might have a new addition to her jewelry collection, possibly a gift from Prince William. Recently, the Prince and Princess of Wales made a brief appearance in a video message to congratulate Team Great Britain on their success at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Although they did not attend the Olympics in person, their virtual message caught the attention of royal watchers for more than just its warm words. It was what Kate Middleton was wearing on her finger that sparked the intrigue.

In the short clip, Kate Middleton looked stunning in a navy and white striped top, while Prince William sported a blue T-shirt. However, viewers did spot a new ring on Kate's left hand. The ring featured interspersed dark and light gems and was stacked with what appeared to be a white ring and two gold bands. One of these bands could be her Welsh gold wedding ring, which she received from Prince William during their wedding in April 2011.

The exact shades of the ring's stones were difficult to spot, but that didn't stop royal fans from speculating. Some suggested the darker stones could be garnets – Princess Kate's birthstone, as she was born in January. Others guessed they could be sapphires – a fitting choice to complement her famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which once belonged to Princess Diana. One user on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) wrote: “I think this is the promise ring William gave Catherine many (many, many) years ago. The promise ring is a rose gold ring designed with pearls (William's June birthstone) and multiple garnets (Kate's January birthstone).”

Another user mentioned: “If I recall correctly, there is a wedding ring made from a nugget of Welsh gold (as each member of the Royal Family has their own ring made from this gold) and an eternity ring given to her by William.”

Kate Middleton's rings are some of the most talked about in her jewelry collection, especially her iconic engagement ring, which features a large sapphire surrounded by white diamonds and belonged to Prince William's late mother, Princess Diana.

Kate's engagement ring, given to her by Prince William during her college days, features pearls to represent William's birthday in June and garnets for Kate's birthday in January. According to Dress Like A Duchess, Kate first wore the engagement ring on her graduation day in June 2005.
