Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'chemistry' caught on camera in Jamaica

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a sweet moment during their surprise visit to Jamaica for the premiere of Bob Marley: Love.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently attended a screening of the upcoming Bob Marley biopic, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as the Jamaican singer-songwriter, at the Carib Theater in Kingston on January 23. In a video posted to TikTok, a fan captured the touching moment Meghan, 42, reached out to Harry, 39, during the event.

The viral clip, shared by TikTok user @meghmarkle, showed the couple chatting with theater guests. Harry, who was wearing a black suit jacket with matching black pants and a white button-down shirt, stood with his hands in his pockets as he looked around and took in the spectacle. Meghan was seen chatting to a friend, before putting her hand on Harry's chest and she apparently took him by surprise, when he appeared to say: “Hello!”

The parents turned to talk to another couple, but Meghan gave her husband a subtle show of affection by rubbing his arm and holding his hand. Then Harry took her hand in his.

The clip has since received more than 192,000 views, as fans in the comments section gushed about Harry and Meghan's simple statements and gestures towards each other. “When each other's peace is noticeable,” one person wrote in the comments section.

“I love this for them! They have a lot of chemistry together,” said another commenter.

“She held his hand and he knew it, so he extended it too,” a third user wrote, while someone else commented: “They love each other so much.”

This isn't the first time fans have witnessed Harry and Meghan's subtle public displays of affection. In September 2022, the Sussexes formed a united front when they returned to the United Kingdom for the state funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II. It was one of the few times the couple met the royal family since they stepped down as senior royals in 2020.

While attending a service for the late queen at Westminster Hall, Harry and Meghan were seen holding hands as they left the chapel behind the duke's brother, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton. The show of support and affection was not followed by most of the other members of the royal family, who stood side by side without touching each other as they left the ceremony. Just a few days earlier, Meghan had held Harry's hand closely as she also greeted her well-wishers outside Windsor Castle.

Unsurprisingly, the gesture drew some criticism from people who called it “disrespectful,” while others claimed that holding hands was against royal protocol. While the royal family rarely engages in PDA moments, Myka Meier, royal etiquette expert and founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette, said People “There is no real etiquette or real protocol that says a couple should refrain from public displays of affection.”
