A nine-year-old flower girl has stolen the hearts of more than a million people online with the extraordinary way she left her wedding ceremony.
Scarlett Rae fearlessly walked down the aisle at an August wedding in California, turning heads in both wedding attendees and viewers at home.
On August 16, Scarlett Rae's mother, Raina Elegado, took to her TikTok account to share a short video of her gymnast daughter making a big scene at the ceremony.
The young bridesmaid stood at the front end of the aisle, just in front of the altar, before performing a series of back-and-forth cartwheels down the reflective walkway. “POV: This was your daughter’s exit as bridesmaid,” read the on-screen caption.
In the video's audio, applause can be heard from the surrounding crowd as Scarlett Rae flawlessly executed four flips that brought her to the line of the last row of seats.
Scarlett Rae's bold nature impressed many TikTok users, racking up over 1.3 million views on the app alone, while hundreds of followers took to the comments section, congratulating Elegado on her daughter's talent.
“It’s a symbol of her, to be honest,” one viewer wrote. Another added: “She’s the main character.”
“I’m so jealous. I hope the best for her,” one sweet woman said. One excited fan exclaimed: “SHE WAS BORN TO BE A STAR.”
“Very self-aware, very cheesy, very demure,” commented a fourth user, referencing the recent TikTok trend coined by its creator, Jools Lebron.
One amazed person commented: “If I could do that, I would never stop doing it.”
Speaking to ABC, Elegado shared that her daughter was a “competitive dancer.” Scarlett Rae also planned her standout performance herself, wanting to make a splash at the ceremony.
Scarlett Rae is one of three children. Elego was a dancer, but has since become a “dance mom” after watching Scarlett perform and loving the sport as much as she did.
On TikTok, the proud mom has posted numerous videos of Scarlett Rae practicing dance, performing “cool tricks” and showing them off in front of the class.
Scarlett Rae isn't the only youngster to have received attention online for her exemplary skills. Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics, a five-year-old's training video, inspired by Team USA's women's gymnastics, attracted more than 1.8 million views and saw Simone Biles leave her own comment.
Known online as “Miss Nova Girl,” the five-year-old was filmed performing a routine on the balance beam while wearing a USA brand leotard. “The future,” read the caption on Instagram.
Gold medalist and “greatest athlete of all time,” Simone Biles, was among the many viewers who couldn’t help but praise the little girl. “Little strut,” Biles wrote. “Go girl!!!”
