Nina Dobrev's co-stars the vampire diaries She recently sprang into action to prevent a stage backdrop from falling on her.
The 35-year-old actor, who played Elena on the hit CW series, took the stage at Epic Con's “I Was Feeling Festive 2” panel in Covington, Georgia, on Friday (December 6). She was joined by her former co-stars Candice King, who played Caroline, and Kat Graham, who played Bonnie.
At one point, a backdrop nearly fell on Dobrev while she was speaking on stage, prompting her friends to come to her rescue.
in a virus video From the incident shared on X/Twitter, King and Graham could be seen jumping out of their seats and lifting the backdrop so it wouldn't fall on Dobrev. Meanwhile, Dobrev quickly stood up from her chair and took off her leather jacket, apparently confused by what happened.
Graham and King helped put the backdrop in its proper place, before returning to their seats.
“Not today, not today!” Graham hilariously told the audience, in response to the set piece almost falling on Dobrev. “I don't want to see any 'Bonnie saves the day' memes, okay… I don't want to hear it.”

“I thought it was a spider!” Dobrev said, drawing laughter from the audience.
Despite Graham's attempt to avoid memes, fans reacted to the viral moment by mocking how she and King saved Dobrev, just as their characters Bonnie and Caroline often saved Elena on the supernatural television series, which ran for eight seasons.
“They're always saving Elena to the point of breaking the fourth wall,” one person joked, while another wrote, “Decades later, they're still protecting Elena.”
“Isn't this a true representation of Elena, Caroline and Bonnie's dynamic???” wrote a third person.
Others joked about how Dobrev took off his jacket when the backdrop fell.
“Her coat fell off like she was on fire or like she was an unwanted boyfriend,” one user wrote, while another added: “Was the jacket holding her back? “She got out of that thing real quick.”
During Epic Con over the weekend, Dobrev took to Instagram to share a video of herself at the event with King and Graham. In the clip, Graham stood between her two friends, as they recreated an image from their days on the set of the vampire diaries.
“We're still just kids,” he wrote in the caption of the clip, which was set to the Simple Plan song “I'm Just a Kid.”

In an interview with Fashion Last October, White explained how he wanted to surprise the actor by asking the question, so he sent him a fake invitation from CFDA/Fashion, who asked him to have dinner with the magazine's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.
“He made the invitation seem very legitimate,” Dobrev said.
However, when he opened the door to the restaurant, he discovered that only a photographer and the professional snowboarder were there. “I went into shock. I froze and looked at him,” Dobrev said.
