Neko Health Scan Review: Is it worth the health check of £ 300?

WWhen I started forecasting the greatest health and well -being trends by 2025, preventive medical care emerged again and again. This is the idea that being incredibly literate in the body and taking measures to understand the state of your health now, you can avoid diseases later.

I have spoken with dozens of doctors and health professionals who are passionate about educating the public about the ways of preventing health disease and maintaining a healthy body and mind. These experts believe that making small changes and trying health markers regularly, we can live longer and avoid having to trust imperfect public health solutions that could disappoint us.

There are, of course, some problems with this argument. The first is that many people trust systems such as NHS because they cannot afford to prove health markers and private prevention diseases. The second is that, unless it is an enthusiastic biohacker or a biology nerd, health tests can be difficult to understand. Where do we start with private and personalized tests if we don't know what we should try? After all, preventive medical care is about tests while it is still healthy, not when you are already sick.

A new type of health test

I am a call “Biohacker Nerd”, so when Neko invited me to try a new full -body health exploration, I knew what aspects of my health they would try. However, Neko aims to eliminate almost all conjectures of the preventive test experience, regardless of how much he knows. So, if I had entered the building with my current knowledge of preventive health or none, I would still have gone as hallucinated as I after experience.

The test, which has been described as a complete health mot, takes an hour and costs £ 300, which seems expensive for the average person. However, when the cost of everything offered by the Neko scanning, the mapping of the mole alone is quite expensive, it seems much more reasonable. This test provides millions of data points that would otherwise accumulate a much higher cost -cost test.

Perhaps that is why the waiting list for Neko is strong of 10,000 people. Essentially replaces the need to have multiple tests in innumerable events in different clinics, each different tariffs. On the other hand, everything happens at the same time in a 60 -minute appointment, with the results explained by a doctor after the tests.

The scanning experience

The basement laboratory where the test is performed is very science fiction. Everything is Pristino and I felt that I was in a Stanley Kubrick movie while I put on a pale yellow gown and entered into a giant tube illuminated by flooding. Then they asked me to take away my dress and be naked in the tube, while the cameras captured 2,000 images of my body from all angles, recording every mole, slope and vein.

Then, they asked me to sleep on a table and connected to the ECGs, my blood were taken to be analyzed and my grip force was proven. This is followed by an ocular health control and an evaluation of my heart and lungs. Two nurses used lasers to scan my dolls and verify the brachial index of my ankles and then a doctor gave me a complete skin exam.

After all the scan was finished, I entered another room to discuss my results. Everything presented me on a large screen on easy to understand diagrams and graphics, such as Spotify wrapped for health. Since Neko was created by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, who co -founded Spotify in 2006, this is not an accident. In one hour, the scan had mapped my whole body and the AI had crystallized the data sets, giving them the doctor to be reviewed and then presented in a slide presentation that says: “This is his life.”

My favorite part of the experience was to learn that my heart age is actually five years younger than my real age and that I am in excellent health. In recent years, I have been working hard to take better care and try to reverse the symptoms of stress and inflammation, so it was edifying to learn this. However, much can change in a year, whether it is due to habits and lifestyle, genetics or external factors, so the doctor suggested that he reserve for another scan in a year.

The idea behind an annual scan is that when collecting a data set every 365 days (or for others), the Neko team can track and observe fluctuations in your health and advise it on what to monitor and how to maintain your health levels. Maybe even reverse your biological age.

The co -founder Nilsonne explains that “70 percent of medical care costs are linked to chronic diseases, which can be greatly prevented or can be largely delayed by early interventions.”

He says: “It seems quite obvious that the health system that everyone really wants is preventive that creates health, instead of being a medicine dispenser for people who are already sick. We have created a new category of medical devices that can collect the medical information of people in a very economical and convenient way and track it over time.”

For someone like me, a person relatively in form and healthy, scan can only provide tranquility and a way to track the maintenance of my health year after year. For others, Neko exploration can identify problems that may need more medical attention before getting worse. In the first year of the company, 14 percent of the people who used body scan needed some kind of medical support and one percent received interventions that save lives as a result of the tests.

The verdict

The nerd in me loved all the experience and knowing what I do with personalized tests, I would say that scan is actually an excellent value for money, especially if it only has one a year. If you already like preventive health and longevity, you will know how expensive a single blood test can be and the impossible analysis is to have a blood analysis of the NHS if you are only curious about the state of your health. NHS quotes are reserved for sick people and who really need them.

The founders of Neko want to prevent diseases from happening in the first place. It is a simple idea, but one that seems to have caught an chord: the company has just collected $ 260 million in funds to expand its offer.

However, it is worth mentioning that scan is a unique situation for everyone. Each person has the same set of proven variables and, although this can provide a large series of ideas about how to adjust lifestyles and take better care, it is not a case of entering and asking for what they think might need. The test is the same for everyone.

Factors such as hormonal health in the blood analysis of the scanning blood and for someone like me, I would have loved a tutorial with the doctor in that, along with my cholesterol controls and diabetes propensity.

However, the submission of slides was the best part. He made each variable easy to understand, the doctor discussed my habits and my lifestyle with me and showed me a health projection over the next few years. Everyone would benefit from seeing the individual aspects of their health broken down in this way and receiving processable advice and is something missing in most medical care quotes. My advice was quite simple: drink more water, lift more weights and continue doing what you are doing, but my knowledge of my body has no comparison at this time.

Of course, the test remains £ 300, which is a great range for some. However, while I was lying on the table with cables glued to my chest, I kept thinking about an appointment of Biohacking Tim Gray: “If you think well -being is expensive, try a disease.”

Neko scan is not a common service and is certainly not cheap, but when it considers how much it is worth compared to individual test quotes and what it obtains for its money, I actually believe that the price is quite decent. Then, of course, there is the value of your health in the coming years. We talk that health is priceless and that it is an asset on which we have no control, but with more companies such as Neko Health that appear every day, and our collective consciousness about the growth of good health, perhaps now we have more control than ever. It is a comforting thought if you can overcome the waiting list.
