Tennis star Naomi Osaka may not be competing at the 2025 US Open after losing her match on August 29, but her performance and fashion on the court will go down in history.
Much like her quick moves, which flow from one end of the court to the other, the 26-year-old professional athlete is known for presenting a free-form fashion collection suitable for any match. Between vibrant prints and flirty embellishments, Osaka’s style is representative of her prowess and femininity as a competitor and standout individual.
This year, the Japanese tennis pro has turned to a collection of embellished Nike outfits, with exaggerated bows and multi-layered skirts. From a large white bow sewn onto the back of her black top to fine tulle peeking out from beneath her kilt, Osaka's US Open uniforms have been sleek and contemporary, keeping pace with current fashions.
It's safe to say that the two-time title holder's look has varied over the years since she first competed in 2015 at Wimbledon and the US Open. And while we won't be seeing any more of Osaka on court at the 2025 US Open, there's no doubt she'll be back in an undeniably eccentric uniform next year.
Until then, here's a rundown of Noami Osaka's best tennis outfits over the years.
US Open 2024
On August 29, the tennis powerhouse played against Karolína Muchová in custom Nikes by Yoon Ahn. Osaka sported her “game face” and a long white bow sewn onto the back of a black windbreaker with a matching skirt and pearl-encrusted Beats headphones. Her sporty skirt was made up of multiple layers with a matching bow sash secured at the back. Underneath her outer layer, Osaka wore a racerback tank top.
Osaka took to the court on August 27 in a bright mint green ensemble. On her bag and headphones were white bows that matched the white tulle she wore underneath her skirt. The outfit was by Yoon Ahn. Osaka opened her outer skirt to reveal a multi-layered skirt underneath, and on the back of her white zipper closure was an oversized green bow.
Wimbledon 2024
At the 2024 Wimbledon tournament, Osaka proved once again that she is never short of a flirty and pretty adornment. Her white Nike ensemble was tailored to the nines with ruffled trims on the front of the top and the back of the skort.
US Open 2022
Before taking a year off for mental health and motherhood reasons, Osaka's intense skill matched her dynamic style. At the 2022 US Open, the competitor stepped onto the court in a lavender uniform, with long layers of fabric falling just above her knee. Of course, Osaka also sported a signature Nike visor.
US Open 2021
In 2021, Osaka showed off her sport in a bright neon green tracksuit that perfectly matched the color of a tennis ball. Her half-mesh one-piece swimsuit featured a flowing skirt over built-in spandex shorts and black lining along the sleeve holes and lower back.
US Open 2020
Osaka's fashion statement at the 2020 US Open consisted of a playful color-blocking game. During the women's singles final, the athlete sported a purple, green, and black Nike ensemble with a black skirt. She completed the uniform with bright red sneakers.
That same year, Osaka fused even more colors, wearing a Nike outfit with patches of yellow, pink, purple, green and white. She paired a paint-splattered windbreaker with striped Lycra as she entered the arena for the women's singles semifinals.
US Open 2017
At the 2017 US Open, Osaka sported a full Adidas look featuring a sleeveless collared sports top and an ivy-style skirt. Her shirt was designed with an abstract print, while her pants followed a traditional style with blue and yellow stripes along the bottom hem.
