Kritika Kamra and television and cricket host Gaurav Kapur hosted an intimate wedding reception at Kapur's house in Bandra on March 11. The private celebration was attended by close friends and family, including actor Malaika Arora, who made a stylish appearance at the gathering.
Known for her bold fashion choices, Malaika chose a softer, more understated aesthetic for the occasion, giving a lesson in how to effortlessly dress wedding guests in a delicate pastel-coloured saree.
Decoding Malaika Arora's Reception Look
For the reception, Malaika opted for a dreamy powder pink tulle saree from designer label Gauri and Nainika. The set, listed on the brand's official website as Lattice Saree With Blouse A, is priced at ₹2,79,000.
The sari was noted for its intricate craftsmanship. The soft tulle fabric was enhanced with gold scalloped lace embroidery along the borders, while the body of the saree featured delicate lattice embroidery in vibrant hues including green, blue, pink, yellow and orange. Floral sequin and bead detailing added subtle sparkle and dimension to the ensemble.
Malaika draped the sari in a traditional style, allowing the embroidered pallu to fall elegantly over her shoulder and extend to a floor-length finish that highlighted the intricate details.
She paired the saree with a matching powder pink blouse that reflected the design language of the curtain. The blouse featured lace-embellished edges, multi-color lattice embroidery, and a sleeveless silhouette. A plunging V-neckline and cropped hem added a modern touch to the otherwise classic outfit.
Jewelry and glamor details
Malaika completed the look with statement jewelery that balanced the softness of the saree. She wore a kundan choker paired with matching earrings, along with kundan kadhas and statement rings on both her hands.
Her hair was styled in a low, twisted, middle-parted bun with a slightly undone finish, adding a relaxed elegance to the overall look.
