Lily Allen reveals that her husband David Harbor controls her phone


Lily Allen has opened up about her phone habits and how she needs her husband, David Harbour, to access it.

In a recent interview withSunday weather The British singer explained that she and her husband control which applications each can have on their phones. According to Allen, this is because she uses a phone designed for children that requires a parent to be linked to it.

“Now I have a kids phone called Pinwheel. It doesn’t have navigation or social media capabilities, but you can still have Uber and Spotify,” he told the outlet about his Pinwheel phone.

“My husband is the caregiver, so he controls what I can have as an app on my phone. I am also his controller.”

The “Smile” singer continued to make jokes about how the two act like each other's parents. “Because they are made for children, he is [listed as] my father and I am his father.' What's your son's name? David, 50 years,'” he said.

He also noticed the effects of limiting his phone use. “The creative side of my brain has been ruined by smartphones. I feel like everyone feels the same way,” she said. “I don't know anyone who can say that the quality of their life improves with the presence of a smartphone. I think it has destroyed us as a species. It's horrendous that they are designed to be so addictive. Some of us have more addictive personalities than others. “It's evil.”

“I don't think that, as human beings, we should share ideas and have them etched in stone,” the singer added. “We are meant to evolve as people. How are you supposed to do that if you always have to be held accountable for things you've said in the past? I said this 20 years ago, when I was a completely different person, not married or having children. Of course, he had a different outlook on life. Don't make me do that.”

Allen had previously revealed that she and Harbor wouldn't actually have gotten married without the Covid-19 pandemic.

The two first met on the exclusive dating app Raya in 2020 and then tied the knot in Las Vegas a year later.

Allen was previously married to Sam Cooper, who is the father of her two daughters. The former couple separated in 2016 and later finalized their divorce in 2018.

As for attributing their relationship to the global pandemic, Allen explained in the Where there is a will, there is a wake podcast that they would have struggled to find time to spend together had they not been forced into lockdown.

“He's an actor and I have two kids, who were six and seven at the time,” she told the podcast host at the time.
