'In a world where you can be anything, be kind,' perfectly describes the beautiful soul of actor, producer and philanthropist Lakshmi Manchu. Lakshmi Manchu, a changemaker who loves to do it in style, kicked off the year 2024 with the ninth edition of Teach for Change's annual fundraising fashion show in Hyderabad.

A catwalk of change, where fashion meets philanthropy, Lakshmi's unwavering support and dedication towards achieving quality education for underprivileged children is not only heartwarming but also sends a strong message that anything can be achieved if You put your heart into it. And that's what makes Teach for Change's annual fundraising fashion show special.

Lakshmi Manchu made a statement in a shiny gold lehenga enhanced with feathers, sequins and beads.

“Every year we continue to get bigger and stronger. I didn't have a vision before, but now my vision is to go to all the public schools I can find and provide students with the necessary and quality education that everyone deserves,” says Lakshmi Manchu.

He further adds, “You know, the only reason I'm here in front of you is because I had a better opportunity to go to a good school. My dad didn't have this opportunity, but he was able to give it to me. And I see the gap between a private school and a public school, and I really want to close that gap so that all students can have a quality education.”

Lakshmi Manchu was accompanied by her daughter, Nirvana, at the annual Teach for Change fundraising fashion show.

And when you have a leader and a force like Lakshmi, you must create a community that supports you and loves you for what you do. A social cause close to her heart, Lakshmi had 35 celebrities walk in the fashion show in designs created by fashion designers Amit GT and Shashank Chelmilla. “They walked for free,” Lakshmi said, as she thanked each of them for supporting her and her initiative. “They have been here since the afternoon, doing their makeup and hair in a room. It's like a community coming together for a cause. It is beyond a feeling. I feel very supported and very loved right now,” adds Lakshmi.

Walking down the ramp, exuding royalty in an exquisite lehenga, Lakshmi Manchu opened the Amit GT show looking like a gold-clad goddess. The ensemble was enhanced with intricate embroidery consisting of sequins and beads, highlighting the sparkling silhouette.
