Aditya Roy Kapur slayed the runway in Kunal Rawal's 'Sehra' collection, celebrating tradition and modernity at Hyundai India Couture Week 2024
The mood was electric when Aditya Roy Kapur took to the stage as Kunal Rawal’s star on the third day of Hyundai India Couture Week. Dressed in a striking blue sherwani embellished with patola-inspired motifs in metallic hues and paired with a voluminous denim patiala from the ‘Sehra’ collection, The Night Manager actor captured everyone’s attention.
Named after the traditional ornate headdress worn by Indian grooms, Kunal Rawal’s ‘Sehra’ collection seamlessly blends tradition and modernity. It features a luxurious palette of fabrics, including sumptuous silks, opulent brocades, intricate bandhani and the artful thread work of dhup chao. Each garment is meticulously embellished with innovative interpretations of French knots and bold micro motifs.
Adding to the charm of the evening, stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania walked the runway with her take on androgynous fashion. She effortlessly rocked a masculine-inspired jacket and shahara ensemble. With minimal makeup and hair, she made sure that the outfit was the centre of attention.
Reflecting on his inspiration, Kunal Rawal shared, “Having had the privilege of dressing and attending numerous weddings of people dear to me, I have come to deeply appreciate that the wedding day is as important for the grooms as it is for the brides. This understanding is at the core of my ‘Sehra’ collection.
