It has been revealed that the Princess of Wales will not return to public duties for The Colonel's Review next month, following speculation that she would be well enough to take part.
As Colonel-in-Chief of the Irish Guards, a role Kate was assigned in 2023, she was expected to receive the salute on June 8.
The news that she will not be taking part comes as the princess continues her cancer treatment away from the public eye, as she has done since her diagnosis in January.
The King, who was also diagnosed with cancer in January, however confirmed his attendance at a major annual event tonight.
Charles will attend the Trooping of the Color on June 15, which traditionally culminates with the royal family gathering on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after a display of military pomp and pageantry.
While it has been confirmed that the King will take part in the ceremony, he will inspect the soldiers from a carriage rather than on horseback, as he did in years past.
Although some conflicting reports suggest Kate could return as early as the autumn and well into the new year, the Palace and royal insiders have been keen to emphasize that no official return date has been planned.
Meanwhile, a Welsh bed and breakfast has shared a never-before-seen photograph of the Prince and Princess of Wales taken during a getaway last year. Duffryn Mawr Country House shared the image of the royal couple with their staff on social media.

King 'encouraged' by enduring privacy of meeting with Harry
The King has reportedly been “encouraged” that his February meeting with Prince Harry was kept private as the family rift persists.
The duke cleared his schedule in February to fly across the Atlantic to see his father following his shocking cancer diagnosis.
While the meeting lasted less than an hour, royal expert Robert Hardman believes it could have benefited their somewhat tumultuous relationship.
“But I think there can be a kind of normalization, and I thought it was telling that when the cancer diagnosis came in February, Prince Harry came straight to it,” the author said.
“People were saying why didn't he stay longer, why didn't he talk to his father, I mean, there's a lot to figure out, but this was absolutely not the time to have some kind of summit with Harry about the whole thing.” Harry's complaints.
“But I think the fact that it came was important, the fact that it was received was important, I think what encouraged the people in the palace and the king was the fact that we didn't read or hear about it afterwards. He kept it private.”

Meghan Markle's new lifestyle brand could raise seven figures in its first year
The estimate was made by PR expert Mayah Riaz before the brand's official launch, and its official website and Instagram page are yet to feature any of its products.
However, Meghan sent 50 limited-edition jars of her jam to launch the brand, and Riaz believes they could sell for a staggering amount of money.
“So far, the jams have been sent to only 50 people. This suggests that it will be an exclusive and limited edition item,” Riaz told the Mirror.
“It has already been reported that a single jar of jam could cost three figures. I think it's very likely from what we've seen so far. This is not unusual for a celebrity brand.”
“So, my estimate is that American Riveria Orchard in less than a year could earn Meghan seven figures. “It is very possible that the brand will produce seven figures by the end of next year.”

King shares behind the scenes of the evening with RADA
The King and Queen enjoyed a tour of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (Rada) in central London on Tuesday, a night in which notable actors from Sir Anthony Hopkins to Imelda Staunton and Tom Hiddleston have trained.

The royal couple watched a scene from Beru Tessema's House Of Ife, a play about a family dealing with the death of their eldest son, and then met the cast.
